Is Coming to the LSU Mainstage
LSU Mainstage opens its fall season with Selina Fillinger’s outrageous political comedy
POTUS: Or, Behind Every Great Dumbass Are Seven Great Women Trying to Keep Him Alive, directed by Lori Elizabeth Parquet. Performances run September 24–October 4 in the
Shaver Theatre.
In this whip-smart, fast-paced comedy, seven brilliant and beleaguered women risk
their careers, dignity, and sanity as they race to contain a White House crisis created
by the man they are all trying to keep in office—and alive. Filled with sharp satire,
physical comedy, and escalating chaos, POTUS takes a hilarious look at the women working
behind the scenes to keep the country running.
Auditions are open for the 2026 SciArts New Play Festival!
Audition hereLouisiana State University is proud to announce the return of the SciArts New Play Festival, taking place in Fall 2026. Co-sponsored by the LSU College of Science, the LSU School of Theatre & Film, and the LSU Office of Research and Economic Development, this groundbreaking festival showcases staged readings of new plays that explore and engage with accurate scientific concepts. This year’s festival features new works selected from 246 submissions from playwrights across the nation. We encourage students of all students to audition. This is a great opportunity to work on new plays, collaborate with LSU Faculty/Staff directors and fellow students, and be part of an interdisciplinary festival connecting theatre and science.

Using a CARE (Communicate, Assess, Refer, Educate) approach, staff review reports and provide appropriate resources in response. LSU Cares works with students to empower them to help students of concern and engage with victim support and advocacy resources.
