Keep Tiger Town Beautiful
Featuring Jennifer Richardson
Tuesday, February 25, 2025, 6:30-8:00pm
Local realtor Jennifer Richardson created Keep Tiger Town Beautiful (KTTB) one day after she glanced out of her car window at a stoplight and was disgusted to see all the trash on the median. That was in 2021 and the few folks who joined her one morning to help pick up trash started an effort that has grown to a volunteer force that has made an overwhelming difference in the environment and continued to foster community spirit in Baton Rouge.
Jennifer will speak on how she created this passionate group of litter warriors dedicated to preserving and enhancing the Beauty of Baton Rouge and ways you can help - no matter where you live.
Jennifer Richardson, mother of three and a real estate agent, spends her weekends cleaning up litter from some of Baton Rouge’s busiest intersections in hopes of making a difference. Jennifer always thought of her city as a gorgeous place with good people and natural beauty; however, as time wore on, she noticed the critical need to clean up the city’s most traversed corridors. She posted a call to action on Facebook and recalls feeling self-conscious wondering if anyone would join her. The cleanup was so successful, Richardson formed the Facebook group Keep Tiger Town Beautiful and planned subsequent volunteer events in the city. Nearly 4 years later, the grassroots organization has over 7,000 Facebook members and hundreds of consistent “litter warriors” who participate in regular trash removal events around the city.
