President's Address

Greetings All,
We capped off the spooky season with the GeauxGourd pumpkin decorating contest. Y'all, I am blown away by the talent and creativity of the staff on our campus. You didn't just understand the assignment, you crushed it! Our Executive Committee spent the morning venturing around yesterday to see your creations and visit with your units. I speak for all of us when I say those visits sparked joy and renewed our spirits. So thank you! Now, the winners.

For the final vote, we need your help! Check out our social media pages (FacebookInstagram) to see all of the entrants and vote for the fan favorite. Votes will be counted by total combined likes on both platforms at 4 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 1, so share, hashtag, and get voting!
Before I share all of the next fun things we have planned for the holiday season, I have important information to share. Our Career Excellence and Enrichment Award and Staff Senate Scholarships (fee support and dependent) are open! These are just one of the ways we support our staff and dependents to further our professional development and education. See our website for information about eligibility and applications.
This past month, the Administrative Process Improvement Committee (APIC) met for the first time in a long while. With entirely new membership on the committee, we are looking forward to hearing from all of you about the ways you have identified that we can improve processes across campus. This can be anything from a more efficient way to conduct some process to a challenge you are facing that some process improvement may solve. We are still updating the website, but we are accepting submissions! Please submit your suggestions and ideas.
During our November meeting, we will have Occupational Safety Manager Brent Kreko come and provide training and information about the AED units that are being installed around campus. Please consider joining us for that meeting to learn more about how to save a life in the event of a heart-related medical emergency.
November also marks the end of the Open Enrollment period. If you have not yet done so, this is your last chance to change your benefit elections for the year 2025. Take a few minutes to review or change your elections before November 15!
Finally, the upcoming fun for the winter holidays. Maintaining our traditions, we will host a Holiday on Campus on December 3, including food, door prizes, Santa, and we will collect toys for OLOL Children's Hospital and diapers for Junior League of Baton Rouge. We also need volunteers for Holiday on Campus! Please use this link to sign up to volunteer with us. It really is the most magical event with the kids and the holiday cheer. We will also host the door decorating contest and food drive for the LSU Food Pantry in December, so stayed tuned for that announcement on the theme and signing up.
Stay safe and well as we enter into the holiday season. Thank you for all that you do.
Cheers and Geaux Tigers!
Olivia
